Lissy Garrison

Lissy’s passion for the arts springs from her background as a classically-trained musician. An accomplished pianist, she won numerous awards and performed extensively throughout the state. As a violinist, she was a member of the Boulder Philharmonic, opera and musical orchestras of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a variety of chamber groups.

Lissy holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in Business Administration from The Colorado College. Her professional career includes over 20 years in marketing, strategic planning and general management within a broad range of business environments, including Vice President of Marketing with Citibank California. She joined Ballet Nouveau Colorado in 1995 as consultant to the Board of Directors, and served as President of the Board for two years before assuming the role of Executive Director in 1999. Under her leadership, Ballet Nouveau Colorado has transformed into a strategically-focused organization with nationally-recognized programs and artists and educators of the highest caliber.

Lissy uses her strategic planning and business expertise to assist other non-profit organizations in the community. She has facilitated workshops for the University of Colorado, the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, and the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts. Lissy sits on the board of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, chairing the Marketing, Advertising and Communications Committee.
